Oh dear! Oh dear! As expected this app just got worse. I’ve got an iPad 1 – so now I’ve got a useless note taking app that does not have a split screen!!! Supposedly your “unique” selling point. It’s slow, clunky, badly designed and far inferior to all the many alternatives out there. You can’t write by hand on it! The text editor is basic at best! The browser is slow and under powered! The drawing abilities are limited! Is there anything this so called app does do well? And to add insult to injury they out the price down even further. How much was a Kickstarter contribution??
Darren, very sorry that we had to freeze the Slide Bar. However, the Slide Bar was causing many crashes for users and testers on the iPad 1, and all the benefit of it was being lost. We are working on some additional memory issues this coming week in hopes of reactivating the Slide Bar. Further improvements will come quickly afterwards. Thanks for your continued comments and critiques.
UH OH, just updated and Tapose crashes immediately after tapping the icon. I have about 20 journals and I’m assuming it’s trying to load some data that is somehow corrupt from the previous version? If I delete and reinstall, will I lose all my journals?
FYI, I’m using ipad 3.
Tim, we are unable to reproduce the error at this time. Is there any way that you could send over your crash report to us? Here
is where to find it:

Hey guys,
the new update only gets as far as the loading screen then crashes. I have tried restarting my iPad but that didn’t help. I am using an iPad 3 64 gb 3G. Should I delete and re-install? I don’t wanna lose any projects if that’s not gonna work.
Many thanks in advance.
Dave
Dave, very sorry to hear of this. It is strange to hear of this error, especially on an iPad 3. Let me talk to one of our developers about this and I’ll try to get back to you asap.
On my iPad3 things seem to be working well apart from the “instructions” file which will not open and if at that point I touch the pages “button” the app freezes. Any way to get the instruction file to work?
This app has some great uses in the science classroom, but since we don’t have a 1:1 policy, it would be great if there were the option to password protect journals. This way many students can use the app, but their work would be protected from other students messing with it. I love that you can share and collaborate with it, and make an option to not allow editing. These are very useful. I also think a crop option would be beneficial when adding images to a page. While it is possible to draw a rectangle around a picture, it is sloppy, having an actual crop tool would make it a more fluent process to add an image to a journal.
How about importing PDF files instead of having to select them with the loop tool? And making images searchable for text within them?
Definitely will be using with kids!
Thank you for your kind words about out app. One of the directions we want to take the app is definitely into the classroom.
To answer your question we will be working on PDF support and image searches as well very soon.
Thanks for your input and keep the suggestions coming please.
I must agree with Darren.
I have tried/experienced almost every note-taking app out there. Your app and Notes Plus definitely were a cut above with the split bar. For true researchers, this is a lifesaver. While Noteability and Note Taker have exemplary functionality, not having the dual pane task bar cripples it as a good note taking tool, and now Tapose just seemed to have fallen down into that realm. I hope you can get that feature back, as I was really getting to like Tapose, even though there was LOTS of work to do. But without the dual pane, for me at least, it makes it a bit run of the mill now.
Thanks for your compliments. I have a dedicated developer working only on memory improvement so that we can reactivate the slide bar for the iPad 1. We understand that this is a huge competitive advantage for Tapose and how important it is for research and productivity. Thanks again for the comment.
Couple of items.
1. Check the calculator since sometime I try multiplication, and when I push the times key, a 0 appears and the value end up 0.
2. In the future and more of a feature request can you put dividers like you would see in a notepad or binders. That way you don’t have to create a separate folder
3. If you have a media, once you drag it it will be removed from the side. What happens if you want to use it in a couple of places.
Otherwise it’s an interesting software and I look forward for the update. Thanks
Please fit the bug in new iPad ASAP. Issue same as Same as Tim Q
