The newest version of Taposé has been submitted to Apple, and should be live within the next 5 business days. We’ve been working extremely hard over the past two months to improve the stability and performance of Taposé. Unfortunately, these improvements do not solve the iPad 1 memory issues like we had hoped. We decided to go ahead and submit the update since it was not clear when the iPad 1 memory issues would be resolved. Our team is still working on improvements for the iPad 1 and hope to have this figured out in the near future.
Plan Going Forward:
We will not be adding new features until the iPad 1 situation is resolved. Once it is, development for 1.1 will start. 1.1 includes features like PDF reader/markup, better zoom box (close up box), improved inking, more pen types, improved page turning, square lasso tool, better page-to-page flow, improved safari and map memory, and improved collaboration.
These are features which will really enhance the usability of Taposé, and we can’t wait to get started on them.

Version 1.0.4 Updates:
Please see the new and more helpful tutorial for improved features.
Improvements:
– Changed page swipe. Swipe on edge of iPad to turn pages
– Adding & deleting Sticky Notes improved
– Removed “Trash Can” for deleting media. Replaced with “x” button
– Changed default home page in browser for faster load time
– New Slide Bar button to be more intuitive
Graphics:
– New icon
– Retina graphics
– New Journal covers
– Changed Navigation bar color to be less “black”
Bugs:
– Check box status should be saved when closing Journals now
– Tutorial was broken on live Appstore version. Fixed
– PDF export bug fixed
Performance & Stability Improvements (iPad 2 and 3):
– Stability issues and crashes should be fixed
– Overall responsiveness increased
– Memory management improved

Good evening gentlemen,
It’s good to “see” you a little more relaxed in running you project.
I have a request for a feature:
Apple iOS email does not support sending out multiple attachments. This does not exact bode well when you are using your iPad for job searches – when you need to send a cover letter doc and a resume doc in the same email… It just can’t be done.
I was thinking that perhaps tapose could allow you to draft an email in a journal along with any file attachments. Then when ready, the draft and its attachments are transferred over to iOS email where they could be sent out in one email. The empty email “object” could be inserted onto a journal page like a sticky note. Upon touching it – it would open up and allow you to add addressees, text content, and attachments.
.
4 additional nice to have features would be an appointment calendar with alarms, reminders, a brain storming mapping tool, and a file manager/Finder tool that would allow you to manage your files in Dropbox/Evernote.
.
The problem with iOS is that there is no basic synergy between any of its apps. It’s like apple took the programs from the old apple III and revised them with OS-X Lion appearance.
Tapose can potentially be the fix for all iOS shortcomings… And there may never be a need to use another app…
Let me know what you think,
Jim
We all need to eventually give up on iPad 1. I used my iPad 1 for 2 years and finally replaced it with the New iPad two months ago. Even before iOS 6 comes, iPad 1 does not have the power to run some of the apps I wanted to use on it.
Hope to see version 1.1 sooner rather than later.
Regards
Hisun
Hi guys,
I’ve been wanting to ask this for quite some time now. Have you considered not being Ios exclusive? I think you could do wonders for Windows 8!
Best regards,
Daniel
@Daniel, thanks for the message. We are still wanting to expand to other platforms, but need to work out all the kinks with the iOS side first. Once we get Tapose to where it needs to be on the iOS side, we will begin planning for MS and/or Android tablets.
your app still crash when I tried to input any Chinese character.
Useless before you fix this.
Thanks for your comment. Yes, unfortunately, Tapose is not currently compatible with Chinese or Japanese languages.
Is the calendar part of the app demo, just not going to happen? I know it seems to be an apple rules situation, but it just seems that there are calendar apps that exists out there that could be integrated into tapose. Could you elaborate on that? Thanks.
John, thanks for the comment. The calendar was removed from the Control Hub due to Apple guidelines. We are looking to integrate a fully functional calendar feature within Tapose, but needed to address performance and stability issues in the newest update first.
Hi guys,
Your blog says that the 1.0.4 update was submitted to Apple but not notification that it was live. Also, the demo video on the front page is confusing and misleading. I think some of us know the story behind the calendar being pulled but potential customers are going to see that video and think it is a feature. I don’t know if this is a second job for you guys but it looks like a little more attention needs to be spent on your web presence.
Joey
Yes, this 1.0.4 was approved and went live yesterday. The video on the homepage is the only one we have currently, so that is why it is displayed. But yes, seems we may need a new video.
Just started using the new version….it is getting better with each revision, thanks for the hard work!
I’m not sure if this is the proper area to put a feature suggestion – but thought it would be good idea to post it here to, perhaps, get other user’s feedback.
I realize you have your hands full just working on improving app stability along with the existing functionality so just consider these ideas for the long term:
1) When exporting to PDF, embed the audio. See the “Livescribe” pen and for an example of an excellent implementation of this idea.
2) Allow for the importation of an existing PDF as a new notebook for annotation – A use case would be: heading to a meeting where there is a PDF handout…import that handout into tapose … mark it up the tapose notebook during the meeting (including audio of meeting attendees commentary). Share the notebook to PDF as minutes of the meeting for all.
Thanks for your great app….all the best…
-Ed
Thank you so much for your input on improvement feedback.
The embed audio in exported journals is a must that we are working on. Many of our users who are students are asking for this feature as well.
Please keep all of the suggestions coming to the following link so we may properly document your suggestions: http://support.tapose.com/
Many of our users have posted here as well and are joining the conversation.
Thanks again for your help.
Unless I’m missing something, the sharing via printing option right now only prints the whole Journal. I couldn’t find a way to print individual or a range of pages without first exporting it via email or evernote. Please consider updating the print feature in Tapose` to allow selecting a range of pages to print. Thanks.
P.S. – I think there is great potential for this program. Please expedite the calendar feature. I would like to see a diary journal that links to the calendar and can be locked, with multiple hits search capability. Thanks.
Oscar,
Thank you for your suggestion. When you say “Diary Journal” can you explain all the specific features you would like to be seen?
I am eagerly awaiting your response.
Hi Guys,
Pls get the wrist guard working
@Jimi8899, thanks for the message. What troubles are you having regarding the wrist guard? Is it not working at all for you, causing lag when writing, or occasionally not recognizing the difference in your wrist/palm and finger/stylus? Also, I want to make sure you are aware that you can change the writing style that the wrist guard recognizes within Settings -> Wrist Guard. Thanks
